My flight leaves at 545AM..what time should I be at the airport?
I'm leaving from Saint Louis,MO to Baltimore,Maryland..

Because its not an international flight, you should be at the airport around 5:00 if your traveling with children make it 10 mins earlier.
2 :
I would come there at 3:45 AM just to make sure that I make it there on time and have time to check in, get searched, and everything.
3 :
i usually leave an hour before when i travel so Thant if anything comes up if the lines are long or something i have time to spare i think you should leave around 4 15
4 :
Your suppose to be there 90min prior to take off. Don't go at the last minute some airports will give away your seat. Hope this helps. (= Answer my question please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ahi2gjVWYcnV_QF_Zeu7VO1ADX1G;_ylv=3?qid=20090726163602AAQMYRA
5 :
At least on hour prior to boarding.........check your boarding time and adjust..........
6 :
you should be there one hour before the flight takes off.
7 :
Just to be secure, be there around 1-1 1/2 hour early, just in case if the check-in lineups are long, or there are any other things slowing you down at the airport. Also, check your flight status online to ensure that your light hase.nt been delayed or cancelled.
8 :
since this is a domestic flight you should be at the airport atleast 1.5-2 hours before departure. which means you should be at the airport betwwen 345am and 415 am.

Hi, if I were you, I'd go to the Ethiopian Airlines Ticket Office in DC, or phone/email them. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line ... which somewhat applies here. Continental Airlines baggage policy for Manila

Continental Airlines baggage policy for Manila?
I have a flight from MNL-BWI with three stops. One in Guam, then Honolulu then Houston before heading to Baltimore. My question is how much maximum allowable baggage limit does Continental Air have? I've read 2 luggages of 23kg; but I also read 31kg. So which is which? Please also note that my immigration port of entry will be Honolulu. Does this mean that my flight from Honolulu to Houston and Baltimore will then be classified as domestic and thus subject to lower baggage weight limits?

2 checked bags - free. each bag at a maximum 70 lbs (32 kg) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height). from their website your ticket is MNL-BWI so your baggage limits is under international flight policy all the way.

Continental Airlines doesn't fly to Manila but Continental Micronesia does--a subsidiary of Continental Airlines I don't know tbh, never flew Continental. LOL

Super cheap flights from texas to maryland?
Can anybody give me some sites for cheap flights from Austin, Texas to Baltimore, Maryland for a round trip? So far I've found some that are like about $200 but I'm thinking maybe I can do better. And I'm not picky about the airline or how fancy it is, just as long as it gets me there on time and the flights don't get cancelled easily. Thanks!

If you will have enough money in your account to afford the ticket after the pending transactions, and any other transactions not yet listed, are processed, then go for it. If you're not sure, stop using the card and wait for the transactions to clear. Otherwise, you may be hit with an overdraft fee.

Good sale on right now, $145 r/t total with Northwest, or go nonstop with USAir and it's only $165 r/t total. As a sale fare, it will not last forever, and seats can sell out if you wait too long. Best to book direct from http://www.nwa.com or http://www.usair.com in this case. Southwest are also on BWI-BNA with nonstop flights, but their sale isn't as good--$185 r/t total with all taxes and fees.

So im looking at flights right now, ill save like 200$ if ill fly to Baltimore, so im really wanna know how long it will take me to get there form airport and how much it will cost? please help meeeeeeee

According to Google Maps, the Baltimore Washington International Airport is about an hour from the embassy by car. The BWI airport website has a list of various transportation options http://www.bwiairport.com/en/travel/ground-transportation. Taking a shuttle is usually a pretty cheap option.
2 :
The cheapest way to get from BWI airport to D.C. is on the MARC train. Take the shuttle bus from the airport to the train station, it's free. Get on the Penn Line to Union Station. The train to D.C. is $6. You can get a taxi from Union Station to the embassy. That should cost less than $25, depending on baggage and tip. It should take less than 2 hours total including wait time for buses, trains and taxi.
3 :
The most efficient way to travel from BWI to Washington, DC, is by train. Amtrak is having a special right now and prices range between $6 and $11 each way. MARC train is another option, but doesn't make the trip on the weekends on in the evenings. It is strictly a commuter train. The trip from BWI to D.C. takes about 40 minutes, give or take. The train goes to Union Station in Washington. From there you can catch a bus or take a cab to the Russian Embassy. It is a gorgeous building, by the way. You'll enjoy your visit, I'm sure.

Flying from Baltimore to Germany (US Army)

Flying from Baltimore to Germany (US Army)?
Okay, my brother is flying from Baltimore to Germany (Frankfort) in the next day, but he lost his tickets. He is in the Army and I was wondering if anybody knew how to 1) find his flight path 2) do you know the typical route to Germany for the Army. He does not know the airline. Any ideas or suggestions

I live in Charlotte, NC and here we have USAir that flies to Frankfort and Lufthansa flies nonstop to Munich, Germany. I'd check these two airline websites and see if they fly out of Baltimore as well.
2 :
If it's a nonstop flight, then it's most likely World Airways which operate the flights for US military between BWI and Germany. Otherwise, there aren't any nonstop flights operating out of BWI to Germany. If World rings a bell, then have him phone them to enquire. It might only be an e-ticket, in which case paper tickets aren't necessary. He should take anything sent to him--print emails of the itinerary, etc.--expecially anything that gives the itinerary and then says "confirmed" for that flight segment.

12 year old flying alone

12 year old flying alone!?!?!?
Ok well, in July I'm flying to Baltimore (direct flight) from New Orleans. I'm kinda scared because this is the first time I'm flying alone but I have flown with my parents before, just not to Baltimore. But I have my I.D. and birth certificate and all that crap but will they make me sit in a certain area and watch me the whole time. And do they have a thing where I can plug my charger in for my Laptop and phone and that kinda stuff. & if it helps to know: I'm flying with Southwest to the BWI airport from the Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans and my mom is getting a pass where she can walk me into/ through the gate. & I really am kinda scared and worried. Please help me.

2 :
You'll be fine. The flight attendants are there to help you with anything you need. I have seen them helping with minors traveling alone before. They don't act like mean school teachers. They are friendly and helpful. Some airlines have special connections for charging laptops, but they are usually only available in first class. I hope this helps. Enjoy your flight. Safe travels.
3 :
No you can't plug in your laptop or phone on the plane. you could plug it in at the airport, plus you won't be using your phone on the plane unless it's in airplane mode so no calling or texting your BFFs. Since you've been to on flights before there's nothing to worry about because nothing happens on the flight.
4 :
The other answers are correct and you don't need to be scared. Once you are through security go to the gate for your flight. Look around for electrical outlets to which you can safely run your power supply cord. There are always outlets because the cleaning staff needs them for machines like vacuum cleaners, but they may be hard to find/they may fit non-sandard plugs. Some airports de-activate the outlets except when the cleaners are actually using them. Ask a Southwest or airport employee for advice if you have probelms finding a good power outlet. Southwest Airlines uses concourses A and B at Baltimore's airport. There are many cafes/restaurants and you may be able to charge you electronics at one of them (buy something to drink as they may only let paying customers sit in the cafe/restaurant). http://www.bwiairport.com/en/shops/shop-dine Southwest does not appear to offer power ports on any of their aircraft, but the flight from BWI to MSY is only about 3 hours. http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Southwest_Airlines/information.php

sure no problem
2 :
The people looking at baggage are looking for weapons, explosives, other items that might be hazardous to the plane and passengers. Cigarettes are not in any of those categories. No one will care.
3 :
In checked luggage they have no idea and can care less how old the person is that owns it. Their looking for bombs and weapons, not cigarettes. Trust me on this one. I travel a lot. Your only problem might be for TSA stealing your cigs. I have had a few things stolen out of my checked luggage, not because it was a threat but because TSA are not the most trustworthy people out there. I had my laptop stolen from my suitcase. You will have o problem.

I live in Orlando, and I have heard that if you book a flight into Sanford International airport it is much cheaper. There are only a few off price airlines that fly into it, but it is worth a shot. Sanford is just outside of Orlando. Hope this helps.
2 :
USA 3000, Jet Blue, and AirTran offer low rates. Take a look at their websites.
3 :
The busiest weekend of the year to travel is the weekend right after Thanksgiving. If you are hoping to find a flight that is available and at a good price you may want to be flexible on your dates.

We got great airfare through Allegiance Air who offers non-stop service from our local airport to Sanford Airport in Orlando. It's not the major airport, but it's worth the price! You can also try Jet Blue - I've heard they have great deals too. Good luck.

How far in advance should I purchase Southwest tickets

How far in advance should I purchase Southwest tickets?
I'm going to be in D.C. this summer, and I wanted to fly home to Texas a couple times during the summer. I've been looking at Southwest to fly out of either the Dulles airport or the Baltimore airport and to fly into the Houston Hobby airport. I'm looking far in advance, at like mid-June or mid-July. Earlier this week (around Tuesday) I looked at some of the flights between Baltimore and Hobby. They ranged between $110-144 one way at just about all times. These prices started in the last week of April and went on as far as I could see into September. I looked today (Saturday) at prices and they started at $188 one way. Does Southwest raise the prices online on the weekends, or have I missed out on the $110-144 deal even though I am looking at purchasing two and three months in advance? When is the best time to buy Southwest tickets?
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Go ahead and purchase so you can get the best deal & the flights you'd like. They feel up fast especially during the summer months.
2 :
southwest sells their tickets based on seating capacity and how far advance you purchase. the absolute cheapest fares are put out 6 months prior to departure. these are usually snapped up fast. especially when they are 49 to 99 one way. after that, the far goes up in small increments until they get to the last seats. the fare will keep going up closer to departure based on the following time periods, 3, months, 2 months, 45 days, 30 days, 21 days 14 days, 7 days, 3 days and walk up fare. unlike most airlines, southwest does not usually discount tickets at the last minute even as they run a 90% on most flights. in other words, they know flights are going to fill irregardless. the fares will however fluctuate from week to week, day to day because people cancel or change their plans so seats open up. but it's best to book as soon as you are 100% sure you need the ticket.
3 :
You should have bought the tickets when you saw the $110-144 price. Airlines sell their tickets in blocks beginning with the lowest fares, when that allotment is sold out, they sell the next highest fare and so on. There's not usually an exact date or timeline when prices start going up, but usually a month or less is when cheap prices are much harder to get. Try a website like Kayak.com to see what other airlines are charging and if you see a good price, don't wait, buy it. http://www.kayak.com/flights
4 :
well first 2-3 months in advance is NOT "far in advance". flights for june, july, and half of august have been up since about november. typically you want to purchase tickets as soon as possible. i have found that on southwest.com on every other tuesday they do seem to lower their rates. i'd definitely check back this tuesday and if they are not lower again then perhaps wait until the next tuesday and if they are still not lower then buy them anyways.

Is 54 minutes enough time for a connection in Cleveland Airport (CLE)

Is 54 minutes enough time for a connection in Cleveland Airport (CLE)?
Im taking a Continental flight (with no luggage-only carry on) from to Washington Reagan by way of Cleveland. My connection time is only 54 minutes, and its the last flight to Washington Reagan of the night. There are later flights to Washington Dulles and Baltimore. I have to be in Washington on that next day. Is Cleveland a reliable airport, and is Continental good about connections and getting you on a plane back home?
Air Travel - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Hate to say it, but anything less than an hour is a tight connection. It will depend on your first flight arriving in CLE on time. If it's late, it's up to the people in CLE to decide to hold (if necessary) and chances are they won't. If it is on time, you should have no problems. I would suggest replanning your first flight to give you more of a connection time.
2 :
I would say that barring any delays, 54 minutes should be ample time. It is a little tight but maybe your departure gate is really close to your arrival gate. If you can try to have a seat towards the front of the plane so you can get off faster to make your connecting flight, that would be optimal.

Is it true that comedianne Mo'Nique was mistreated by United Airlines flight personnel recently

Is it true that comedianne Mo'Nique was mistreated by United Airlines flight personnel recently?
I recently came across the following report and wondered if there was any validity to it: Comedienne MO'NIQUE is speaking out about how she says she was mistreated by airline personnel over an incident on Sunday, when the actress says she was asked to leave a United Airlines flight. "Mo'Nique's said she boarded a flight to New York in first class when, she alleges, flight attendants threw her off the plane without giving her a reason why, referring to her as a "threat." According to Mo'Nique, a flight attendant approached her and addressed her in a rude and unprofessional manner. "The flight attendant comes up to me and says, 'Listen, you need to let your people know ... if they don't straighten out their attitude I'll have them thrown off this flight,'" she said from her hometown of Baltimore this morning. "And I said, 'No, you're not gonna speak to me like that. You're not gonna be rude and disrespectful.' [He said,] 'Well, you know what, I'll have you thrown off this flight.

Space available flight to Rammstein, AFB? AD husband must be with me

Space available flight to Rammstein, AFB? AD husband must be with me?
Hello, I am a military spouse of a active duty soldier who is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He has been there since July of last year and is scheduled to return home in June at his original duty station in Baumholder, Germany. I heard about these AMC passenger terminal/Military space available flights through his brother in law. I would really love to save money on the $600+ ticket to germany (since I cannot be command sponsored, he only has less than a year left there) However, I hear he has to be present with me in order for me to board this flight. Is this correct? The only way for him not to be with me is a signed letter from his commanding officer? In addition, these flights do not sound very reliable. I want to be in Germany by May 19th or 20th, are you not able to pick your dates in advance? I live near WPAFB in Ohio, but I hear Baltimore-Washington IAP MD has flights out to germany constantly and Dover AFB, DE has a much better chance of catching a flight to germany. Any advice or experiences? I am lost, if this could work I would be willing to wait around but I am afraid a flight would get divered to another AFB(in that case I would wait for another flight, right?), cancelled, stuck somewhere, etc. Is it all worth it? THANK YOU!!

Hello, this used to be my job kinda (augmented) so let me help you out a little. Your best chance for catching a Space A flight is either Dover AFB DE or McGuire AFB NJ. Those two have flights to Ramstein daily. You will need to be with him yes, or a Command Sponser letter. It shouldn't be hard to get. Sign up for Space A as far ahead as you can (usually 60 days). You can do this by phoning their passenger terminal. Make sure you get that letter first though. After you sign up, you basically reserve a spot. Anyone who signed up before you is ahead of you, and you are ahead of any Space A's that sign up after you. Flights don't get diverted that much. However, you will be assigned a priority, and yours won't be the highest. Emergency Leave, Enviromental Morale Leave, and Space Required (usually deploying) personel take precedence over you. If you were to stop at another station, they can kick you off to replace you with cargo or high priority passengers. Luckily usually the flight to Rammstein doesn't have any stops. Get your command letter, sign up for Space A at whatever PAX terminal you wish, and call them near your flight day to see what missions they have going out. Like I said, the longer you are on the Space A register, the better your chances of getting selected for the earliest mission is. Good luck.
2 :
Because your Husband is deployed he doesn't have to be with you for you to fly Space A. You will just need a copy of his deployment orders. You need to plan to leave a few days before you really want to be in Germany because you may not get on the first one or two flights that you sign up for if they don't have space for you.

When Ryanair activates it transatlantic flights from Dublin to Long Island Macarthur, wat planes will they use

When Ryanair activates it transatlantic flights from Dublin to Long Island Macarthur, wat planes will they use
I read several news articles that Ryanair will soon have trans-atlantic flights from Dublin, Ireland to Baltimore, Providence, and Long Island (Macarthur). What planes do you think they will use to Long Island? I know Long Island's runway length is the same as LaGuardia's, and LaGuardia has 757s, and I think 767s.

I have not seen or heard that Ryanair will be activating any transatlantic trips to the U.S. especially to places like Long Island MacArthur and Providence, and if they are considering it, it's not being reflected on their website.
2 :
Mike O'Leary (Ryanair chief dude in charge) has said that launching the Ryanair-style transatlantic airline will depend on acquiring fuel-efficient aircraft at good prices. The best shot they've got at that is to take over Air Berlin, which placed orders for 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliners last year, and is having some growing pains. Air Berlin's LTU division does have some Airbus 330s that could be shifted to Ireland-USA flights.

Best flight for first time flyers

Best flight for first time flyers?
My family and I will be traveling from Baltimore to Florida. What is the best 'flight' for first time flyers in you're opinion? Thanks

In my experience the coolest aircraft is Virgin Airlines or Jet Blue. They both have individual lcd tv for each passenger built right into the seat and the interior is also way cool. Enjoy your flight :)
2 :
I don't really understand your question; what do you mean the best 'flight'?? Are you talking about the best airline, or what? It doesn't really matter, flying is pretty much the same no matter what airline you use, just the price and amenities offered are different. I would recommend a nonstop flight if you can find one, less hassle for someone who's inexperienced with flying.
3 :
agreed with the above answer!

I am looking for a plane ticket from either Baltimore MD, or Washington DC that goes to any where in Hamburg Germany, over Christmas break. so departing around Dec. 17 (+/- one day) and returning on January 2nd???? help please

Right now, it isn't going to happen -- the prices that are showing up (in the $900-$1000 range) are reflective of the cheapest available fares from the eastern US to Germany for that time frame. That doesn't mean that the prices won't drop -- airlines often put winter fares to Europe on sale at some point during the late summer or early fall, but keep in mind that because you're wanting to travel over the Christmas/New Year's holiday period, airlines may not have as much incentive to offer sales for those dates, because of the extra demand that occurs. At what point you decide to purchase your tickets, you might wish to try, in addition to being flexible on dates, to be flexible on airports -- it may be cheaper to fly into another airport, such as Berlin or Dusseldorf, and then take the train from there on Hamburg. You can also try being flexible with your airports in the US -- Air Berlin, for example, offers relatively inexpensive flights from the US to Germany, but their closest airport to you is JFK in New York. Though they haven't published their schedules yet for December, it may be worth checking with them to see whether it's cheaper to take Amtrak up to New York and then fly with them to Hamburg for your dates.

Does anyone know of a direct flight between Dublin or Belfast and the D.C. area?
Aer Lingus has stopped their Dublin-Dulles flight. Trying to fly my boyfriend in for the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday, but due to school it needs to be to the DC area. Reagan, Baltimore, Dulles are all fine.

No airlines offer a direct flight.

None. You will need to fly via New York or Philadelphia. http://www.flyglasgow.net http://www.continental.com http://www.usairways.com
3 :
Can only see Dublin-Heathrow-Dulles with British Midland
4 :
no, but you can still find quick layovers for really great prices. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
5 :
You can book through the Jetblue Airways or Aer Lingus site as they are code-share partners. Jetblue flys from D.C. to NYC and Aer Lingus flys to Dublin from NYC. Hope it helps.

sorry no direct flights. you may check with united airlines though they have a hub in IAD

Travelling to/from Baltimore and Washington DC

Travelling to/from Baltimore and Washington DC?
I am looking to travel from Balitmore Int'l Airport on Feb 22, which is a Thursday, to Washington DC and back to Baltimore again on Feb 25, which is a Sunday. I will be landing at BWI at around 10 30 pm and hence will be looking to catch either a bus or a train to DC at around 11pm on Thursday evening. Then I need to get back to BWI from DC on Sunday at around 6 30 am to catch the 7 55 am flight. So what is the best way and the cheapest (safe) to travel to and from Baltimore and Washington DC? Looking to find out the time required and the fares. Taking a cab is somewhat too expensive for me. Thanks. How much would the cab fare from BWI to DC be?
Washington, D.C. - 2 Answers

1 :
Boy, you picked some dicey flights. There is a train station for BWI airport served by both MARC (local train system) and Amtrak. The Amtrak is much more expensive. Unfortunately you will be arriving after the last MARC train and MARC does not run on Sunday. If your plane arrives on time there is an Amtrak at about 11:45 and another about an hour later. That's it 'til the morn. For Sunday morning there are also 2 Amtrak trains from Washington that (if on time) will get you to BWI early enough. I have no idea about the busses but I suspect you may be arriving too late Thursday and leaving too early Sunday. If you can get your tickets changed without penalty to Reagan Airport you should.
2 :
Unfortunately the poster before me is right. There are trains that stop at the BWI airport and go to Union Station in D.C. but they don't run all that frequently. MARC (the commuter rail trains) run pretty infrequently and not at all on Sundays. Amtrak is a little more but they run more frequently. I think it's about $10-15 each way but it's cheaper than a taxi. There is ground transportation information at the airport's website www.bwiairport.com

Washington DC question

Washington DC question?
I am planning a trip to DC this summer , on all the travel sites i go to it has my flight coming into Baltimore instead of Washington DC. Are there really cabs that take you from Baltimore to DC? How much does that cost?
Washington, D.C. - 1 Answers

The airport is actually Marshall Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) and is located about half-way between the two cities. Many folks coming to Washington, DC fly into BWI, particularly because it has many discount flights. To get from BWI into DC you have several options. Unless you're on an expense account, I would not use a cab, which will be quite expensive. Instead, I'd take the free shuttle bus from the airport to the BWI train station, from where you can take either Amtrak or the MARC commuter train into Washington Union Station, in downtown DC. From there, you can more cheaply take a cab to your hotel, or if your hotel is near a Metro station, you can take the Metro subway. There are other ways of doing it, including a bus that will connect you from the airport to the Metro subway system, but the Amtrak or MARC connection is the most popular.

Cheapiest time to fly to vegas during the months of June to August

Cheapiest time to fly to vegas during the months of June to August?
I am looking for a reasonably priced flight from Washington D.C. or Baltimore to Las Vegas. I want to travel anytime between June-August. Any ideas on the best/cheapiest time between this period to fly to vegas?

1 :
go to http://flyairfares.com you should buy the ticket now as August is the most expensive month to fly in!!! Merry XMAS!!
2 :
I heavily disagree about August being the most exensive month to fly. July is way more expensive as load factors are at their highest for all airlines. In August, it's pretty bad still as kids start flying back to college and whatnot. I would agree that you need to start looking now as right now airlines are offering their sale fares for that time period. You may be able to scoop up a really good deal. Look for flights with connections as they are usually cheaper than non-stop. Also check jetblue and southwest. Southwest from Baltimore and Jetlbue from Dulles. Both carriers will have both non-stop and directs to vegas
3 :
Depends where you are coming from. But I find the flights that leave before 7:30 AM are generally the cheapest.

How early should I get to the airport

How early should I get to the airport?
I have a flight via Southwest Airlines from Baltimore (BWI) to Boston/Logan at 10:50am tomorrow. I will be getting dropped off, and I have one back to check. I will not have any liquids on me, and a single, small carry-on. I am in the A Boarding Class. How early should I expect to get there? Thanks
Air Travel - 4 Answers

1 :
usually standard rule for mist airline is that you are required to be at the checkin area about 2 hrs prior to departure. and they usually close 45mins before departure... so any time in between these time shud be fine....
2 :
I fly southwest all the time, and for any flight within the US, one hour prior is fine. The line to print your boarding pass and check your bag takes 5-20 minutes, and security usually another 10. So, at the absolute latest, you would arrive at your gate with thirty minutes to spare. Southwest airlines will NOT get your bag onto your flight if you arrive less than thirty minutes before takeoff. Thats all you really have to worry about though. Class A boarding means you'll board the plane first, which means you will get a better seat. I would aim for 9:45
3 :
You should always get to the airport two hours before your flight in case you have any issues checking in bags, getting through security...etc. I would suggest getting there no later than 8:50 am. The baltimore airport is nice and once you get passed security there is plenty of places to hang out and eat/shop while you wait for your flight. Its better to get there early than to be sorry!
4 :
I would get to the airport at least 2 hours so 8:50 am. You never know how long the lines at check-in are and how long the lines at security will be.

Connection Flight from MSP to BWI

Connection Flight from MSP to BWI?
Hey everyone, I'm flying from Seattle to Baltimore, but there's a connect flight at Minneapolis St. Paul International (MSP) airport. I have about 40 minutes after landing to get to the gate to Baltimore (BWI). Has anyone ever gone through this plan? Is 40 minutes in between flights enough? I heard that the MSP gates are relatively far from each other... - I am flying in and out of the Lindbergh terminal, if that helps.
Air Travel - 4 Answers

MSP is a pretty big airport, but they have trains between gates, so you should have plenty of time to get to your plane.
2 :
This is a normal connection at MSP. You will be fine. Regards, Dan
3 :
It should be okay, if you are on the same airline. It's pretty easy to get around. And are you flying into & out of the Lindbergh terminal? Because MSP also has the Humphrey terminal.
4 :
You should be fine. I have had two round trip flights that were connections and both times I bascially had less time then you have and I made it alright and I had to connect one time in Washington-Dulles, and for another trip, had to connect in Detroit. As long as the weather is good and you have no delays or anything like that then you should be alright and also know where you are going within the airport itself. Have a good trip!

what happens when flight are delayed

what happens when flight are delayed?
I am flying out of Baltimore Mon. I am suppose to transfer in Atlanta then fly to Branson on a diff airline. What happens if the snow delays me leaving Mon. Do I lose my money
Air Travel - 2 Answers

1 :
No, you just go later.
2 :
Technically if you book on two different airlines and miss the second due to the first airline's delay then the second airline has no responsibility to move you to the next flight. If the airlines are related in any way (eg. American Airlines/American Eagle or Qantas Airways/Jetstar Airways) then they should move you free of charge and help you as much as possible. However, if they are opposing airlines then you will forfeit your fair unless the check in agent/supervisor uses their discretion. Keep in mind that if there are weather delays affecting the first airline's network then the weather might also affect your second airline as well. So even if your Baltimore to Atlanta flight is delayed you could still make the connection if the Atlanta to Branson flight is delayed also. It is always a good idea for future travel to book any connections with the one airline only.

My brother was pulled over instead of me in a warrant traffic stop, FREAKY?
Hello there, I am currently from Chicago but visit Minnesota offten. Most of my family currenty lives in Minnesota. I had a active warrant in Minnesota for theft which was only $13.00, the officer wrote down a court date, took my information and I was on my way. He told me I had to make this court date, but I knew I couldn't, due to the fact I was just there visiting and I had a flight to Baltimore to start college the same day. I had this warrant for about 2 years now and just been to busy to take care of it. Now my brother also has an active warrant and was recently pulled over in Minnesota. The officer asked for his name and he gave the officer my name which cam back as an active warrant. Funny thing is the officer just asked did he have $ 300.00 on him to take care of the bail and other expenses. Now my warrant is gone with no jail time all I have to do is show up for court and listen what the judge has to say. So how was this possible and my bro didn't have a license on him either

The cop fell down on his job. Now you owe your brother $300 and he still has a warrant out on him. The cop should have taken him in for "Failure to Identify."
2 :
Your high power is actively on call.
3 :
If your brother knows all your information like dirth date, address, etc etc etc it's easy to pass yourself when you're a sibling. Pay your brother back the $300 and count your lucky stars!
4 :
Since your brother didn't have any ID on him, knew he had a warrant, and thought you might not, he gave the cop your information. If your identifiers (age, height, weight, eye color, etc.) are similar it would've been easy to do so. Not necessarily a failure on the part of the cop. When I worked at the Sheriff's Dept., we had female identical twins who used each others' IDs all the time, and the only way to tell them apart was their tattoos and their fingerprints. If your brother was fingerprinted when he posted bond, those prints will come back through AFIS as his, not yours, and he could be issued a ticket for providing false information to an officer.

Seniors: Do You Fall Asleep on Planes

Seniors: Do You Fall Asleep on Planes?
Are you in the cockpit? DENVER - Two commercial pilots allegedly fell asleep on a flight between Baltimore and Denver, with one pilot waking up to "frantic" calls from air traffic controllers warning them they were approaching the airport at twice the speed allowed. I am ALWAYS nervous about flying, though I do it to get where I cannot get by other means. But this story just about did me in! I am so glad to see I'm not alone about flying...thought I was the only one around. My daughter always looks at me with a jaundiced eye and then tells me to take a tranquilizer! lol

I'm glad I wasn't on that flight! It's a wonder that plane didn't crash.
2 :
Yikes! What a story! I use to work in the airline industry, so I have trained myself to fall asleep immediately. I wake up and pay attention to the safety briefing (yes, each and every time!) and then go back to sleep only to awake upon landing. It's a great way to travel!
3 :
Yes, I do fall asleep and thank God, I am not a pilot!
4 :
My husband worked for an airline for over 30 years and could never figure out why I hate to fly.....I'm showing him this!!!
5 :
I fall asleep every time....as soon as we hit the air, I am out.....good thing I am not in charge of anyone's life.......hehe actually i do it in the car as well.......I don't sleep well at night, so I sleep every where else........
6 :
No, I'm too busy looking out the window, doing word searches, deciding what kind of soda I want, waiting my turn to go to the bathroom, watching other people walking up and down the aisle. I guess I'm too nervous to sleep!
7 :
This is scary. No I have never slept on a flight.
8 :
Heck no I wouldn't dare! If I don't grip those seat arms with all my might the plane would probably fall out of the sky.
9 :
OH GOOD GRIEF!!! That would be scary!
10 :
Oh, my goodness. That's a fine how do you do. I have a slight reluctance to fly, now we hear this. I have known for a long time, that the pilots go for hours without any sleep. What a close call this was. Thank goodness air traffic controllers were on the ball. Whew!!!
11 :
Nooo! I hate flying.
12 :
An awful story, but no, I don't ever fall asleep on planes. I wish I did ! I just got back yesterday from Egypt, and it took 30 hours of zig-zagging across the world on four different air planes to get home. I tried everything - sleeping pills, eye shade, watching boring inflight movies....but nothing worked. I got home, unpacked, and crashed for 8 hours, had some dinner, and crashed again for the entire night. Thank heavens that is over !
13 :
I used to when I was doing a lot of long distance flying. but now all of the flight that I take are short one.
14 :
I fall asleep on the runway! Taking off. Thank goodness I overcame my fear of flying. This could be due to too things, one total, jet lag (too many flights forward and back in one day) and tiredness, or both 'out on the town' the night before. Random drug and alcohol tests should be introduced for pilots flying both both International and National flights. So, in future, I'm going up to the cockpit, occasionally on flights, ( can't count the number , Ive' lost tract), and pop my head in to see, especially before landing!.
15 :
I love to fly, my husband ( now deceased) worked for Eastern Air Lines as systems analyst for 30 years, so we had flight benefits, round trip was $15.00. The first time I had to pay the whole ticket price I just about had a heart attack. I never sleep on flights though. I have "faked" it if I had an annoying seatmate though.
16 :
Not possible, its a myth I am sure, auto pilot would have disengaged as they entered controlled air space and an alarm would have sounded - beside which the flight attendants are back and forth to the cabin. A call from ATC would not have been about their speed, they would have have been given their vectors when they entered controlled airspace, so sorry it really sounds like one of those myths-
17 :
No unless it is a 12 hr flight over the ocean, then we leave at night so we can sleep. I don't think a pilot has ever fallen asleep, but know some who were plenty hung over so were the stewerdess's many times, flying out of Lake Tahoe in prop planes.
18 :
I tend to agree that this sounds like a legend, but I can't find it at all on urban legend sites. It is on msnbc.com dated yesterday, but is full of words like "alleged" with no corroboration from any source for an event that allegedly happened in 2004. I'm guessing Isotope knows more than the reporters. I can't seem to fall asleep in any moving vehicle.

The "minus number" is the deviation from local time in that city to Greenwich Mean Time, which is the local time in Greenwich, England that people use as a standard for travel across different time zones. It's also called Zulu (Z) time. When an airline lists its departure and arrival times, this is the local times for the departure and arrival cities. So, if you have a flight that leaves time zone -6 at 2 PM and it arrives in time zone -8 at 5 PM, the local time difference between the two cities is two hours. That is, when you leave the -6 time zone at 2 PM, it's actually only 12 noon in the -8 time zone. And, if you arrive at 5 PM, then your total time of travel is 5 hours. In the first problem, the time zone in Dallas (-6) is the same as the time zone in Pensacola (-6). So, the actual flight time is simply the arrival time minus the departure time. And, 3:36 - 1:07 = 1:29. For the second problem, you're leaving a time zone that is east of the arrival time zone by 3 hours (8 minus 5 = 3). So, when you leave Baltimore at 10:00 AM, it's actually 7:00 AM Las Vegas time. And, if the flight arrives at 1:32 PM, that's actually 6:32 hours of total flight time (7 AM to noon is 5 hours, plus the 1:32 when the plane lands). For the rest of the problems, you just need to figure out what the time difference is between arrival and departure cities (the difference between the minus numbers), determine what the actual time of departure is in the arrival city, and then add up the hours and minutes the flight actually takes.

bahamas vacations

bahamas vacations?
In 2002 I took a direct flight from Baltimore to the Bahamas. I'm not sure what the plane was called. Something like Grand Bahama or something. I can't seem to find such a plane anymore. Has anyone heard of a direct flight I guess sponsored by the Bahamas

Maybe Bahamasair.com?
2 :
check out expedia.com or travelocity.com if its not there the flight doesnt exist. Bahamasair is the bahamian plane company Grand Bahama is one of the islands
3 :
Um... Grand Bahama is the island where I live.. so that probably isn't an airline. BahamasAir is the national airlines. We have some other ones flying here too but they're from the states... (eg American Airlines, United etc)
4 :
Like the other say ...perhaps Bahamas Air, but i do not think it goes direct..you may want to check out travel sites to get that information...and for Gods sake...do not use Orbitz

How much time should I allot for connections in Cleveland

How much time should I allot for connections in Cleveland?
Im taking a Continental flight (with no luggage-only carry on) from to Washington Reagan by way of Cleveland. My connection time is only 54 minutes, and its the last flight to Washington Reagan of the night. There are later flights to Washington Dulles and Baltimore. I have to be in Washington on that next day. Is Cleveland a reliable airport, and is Continental good about connections and getting you on a plane back home?

Hello, Yes, yes, and yes. Cleveland is a good airport. It's not very congested compared to Denver, LA, and Atlanta. You shouldn't have any issues unless the weather gets bad. In that case, they will either delay the flight a little bit or get you on another one. That usually won't happen, though. Continental is an awesome airline. I really like flying with them. -Happy flying!

Is it safe for a 8 week old puppy to take a 8 hour flight with a lay over

Is it safe for a 8 week old puppy to take a 8 hour flight with a lay over?
We are getting our puppy flown up from Birmingham to Houston and Houston to Baltimore BWI. Is it safe will she be okay? She lives closer to Birmingham then atlanta, and she is coming in on Contental. The breeder has been very good in reassuring us and she has done this many times and gave us very detailed instructions what to do. But we have no choice beacuse the long car trip would be worse for her. Isnt it better is she is young?

Why aren't they going through Atlanta? What airline? I can't believe they're sending it west to go north..... We shipped a pup from FL to Seattle, WA, was a 7 1/2 hr flight. Pup did mess in the crate, but physically she was fine.
3 :
It's not the greatest option but thousands of animals travel this way. If at all possible have her carried on board. And try to avoid the transfer if you can. One positive, since she is so young chances are she will sleep most of the trip, which is for the best.
4 :
I would never fly a dog or puppy. I have heard numerous stories of terrible things that have/can happen. The airlines are not required to keep statistics on these things either. http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/WinnipegSun/News/2004/02/04/335084.html http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/traveloutdoors/2002367616_webpetsonplanes08.html?syndication=rss http://www.msu.edu/~silvar/airplane.htm Read these and I think you will change your mind.
5 :
my mom has had passengers and they're puppies that young ride on her plain. they get scared easily though.
6 :
No its not safe at all. Chances are that the pup would not survive
7 :
she will be if you trained it properly
8 :
NO!!
9 :
well no she wont she needs to be in care at that age she is waaaay too yung
10 :
Well, I had a puppy shipped in. She flew all night and I pic ked her up earlyin the morning. She was fine. She had food/water and the cargo staff were very professional and kind. She went from Kansas to Arizona...and she was 10 weeks old (maltese)
11 :
No one can tell you for sure if the puppy will be okay or not, but layovers are not the best for a puppy less than 12 weeks old. I don't know any reputable breeder that ships dogs @ 2 months. I would say 3 months minimum with no layover. http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/animals/puppies.aspx?SID=0FA4B9A5211A43C5942E10B0C1708529 http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/animals/default.aspx?SID=0FA4B9A5211A43C5942E10B0C1708529 http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/animals/restrictions.aspx?SID=0FA4B9A5211A43C5942E10B0C1708529 http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/animals/iah_kennel.aspx?SID=0FA4B9A5211A43C5942E10B0C1708529 Upon researching the Continental website they states: Continental operates the only on-airport kennel managed by an airline in the United States at its Houston Bush Intercontinental cargo facility. The kennel provides 1,100 square feet of space for runs and exercise pens. It also provides the ability to contain separate species in separate rooms. With this facility, Continental can provide grooming, on-site servicing (or day kenneling) and overnight kenneling. You can book these services at the time you book your animal with our PetSafe desk. Fees will be collected at the time you tender your pet. Fees for our Kenneling and services are: On site servicing (8 hours or less): Fee for the first animal $75.00 USD additional animals (on the same Air Waybill) $25.00 USD Overnight Kenneling: Fee for the first animal (for the first night) $100.00 USD Fee for additional animals (on the same Air Waybill) $50.00 USD Additional nights for all animals $ 15.00 USD Grooming Services Available upon request - call for a quote http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/animals/iah_kennel.aspx?SID=0FA4B9A5211A43C5942E10B0C1708529 I would state that if the breeder will be paying for this service then tthat will ensure your pets safety more; however no one will know for sure. Good Luck.

Whats the cheapest place to go out of the US? And best value for entertainment

Whats the cheapest place to go out of the US? And best value for entertainment?
One person said Amsterdam because the flights are cheap and its all about partying there. A couple told me Toronto because we can drive and its a good time. It will be about 4 of us in our mid 20's. Were all about a good time and spending about average money. Im coming out of Baltimore (flight costs) Any advice??

Amsterdam could be good for partying, but being in europe things arent very cheap once you're over there!! I'm not sure what the flights are like coming from your neck of the woods, but i deffinately know that countries in south east asia are VERY cheap to party in!! Deffinately check out Thailand, if you want a massive party, look at going to a Full Moon party on the beach on the island of Koh Phangan, just near Koh Samui. Accomodation is pretty cheap too depending on what sort of class you want to stay in... hostels can be from US$10 a night, but if there's a group of you, you could get a pretty decent hotel for US$30. Drinks are cheap too, most are a few dollars. If you'd rather party in a city than at the beach, head for Bangkok- Khao San Rd is party central! Plenty of fun to be had... specially if your a group of guys!!! If you want any advice on South East Asia at all feel free to ask!

We are flying AirTran and

We are flying AirTran and...?
Should I be nervous about having only a 37 minute layover in Atlanta? I am traveling with my younger sister who is 19 & my daughter who is 4 months. Will that be enough time to catch our connecting flight to Pensacola, FL? Our flight from Baltimore arrives in Concourse C and flight to Pensacola leaves out of Concourse D.

Yes you should be nervous. I was flying to Nashville last February and only had a 30 minute layover in Atlanta and there was so much traffic from planes coming in that we got stuck on the tarmac. We were still sitting on the plane when our next flight was supposed to leave. 4 flights later we finally made it to Nashville and missed my cousins wedding. 37 minutes is not long enough, I wouldn't take a layover of less than an hour honestly, especially in Atlanta. You just don't know.
2 :
It's going to be really close. That's not a long layover at all, especially at a big and busy airport like Atlanta. That 37 min is from the time one plane lands (not reaches the gate) to when the next takes off. So you have to hope that your first flight lands early or on time and can get immediately to a gate, then you need to be one of the first off. I'd avoid gate-checking any items (like a stroller) because you sometimes have to wait a few minutes before those are brought up. Planes typically close their doors anywhere from 5-10 min before departure, so you really will only have 27-32 min to get to your connecting flight, at best. If it's possible to change a flight, I would try to do that. If not, hope for the best and move fast once you land!
3 :
Ohhhh that airport is HUGE! I just went through there a couple of weeks ago with a layover time of about an hour and 15 minutes and I had my 3 month old with me. I'm pretty sure my next flight was one concourse over like yours, but it was still a pretty good walk! I walked REALLY fast (almost running) directly to my next concourse and had time to use the bathroom and change my daughter. I tried to stuff down a sandwich really quick but didn't finish it, and couldn't feed my daughter until I got on the plane because we boarded pretty quick. With your time, it sounds like you won't even get a restroom break. You can always go on the plane, but it sounds like you might not be able to change your 4 month old before your next flight. Don't waste any time, because you'll need to take an elevator to get to the next concourse, and there are plenty of inconsiderate people who take the elevator instead of the escalator even though they don't need it. Also keep in mind that they will want you to board the plane first (since you have a small child) so that makes your time before boarding even shorter. Good luck with that!

I have heard a lot of horror stories and if you love your puppy don't take a chance. I won't.
2 :
Only on your lap. He could not survive the cold in the hold. It would be best to have someone drive the puppy.
3 :
Well, I'm from Australia, and I wouldn't be allowing my 8 week old puppy to fly anywhere. The flights probably safe, but, I would have thought Male/Female a little on the young side, has it had it's (obviously) first injections? I gather yes, I really feel it's too young, but, consult your vet.
4 :
No, it's not safe. Reputable breeders will not ship a puppy until it is at least 12-16 weeks old.

What flights are there from DC/Baltimore to San Diego

What flights are there from DC/Baltimore to San Diego?
I want non-stops from any DC airports(including BWI) but no Southwest. I can't find anything under $300.

Try travelocity-they have cheap flights
2 :
try www.letsgotoday.net Prices are great and they offer anything that the "corporate giants" offer.
3 :
Every major carrier will offer fligts in this market. The question to ask is, do you care about stops and do you have a particular airport in mind. Presuming you want "non-stop" travel, I know that United offers service from Washington's Dulles airport to San Diego three times per day nonstop. Southwest offers two nonstop flights from Baltimore to San Diego. Jet Blue also offers a nonstop from Dulles to San Diego. These and other carriers may offer "connecting" flights for less. Good luck! Re: addl information. If you want non-stops but not Southwest - you appear to have two and only two options. United and JetBlue. If neither offers flights for under $300 on the days you want - you will need to modify your parameters. Either your preferred day, your preference of non-stop, or your avoidance of a particular carrier will have to give. You may wish to post your preferred dates here. Dates are important. Holiday times with peak loads are going to cost more. It will also cost more if you wait until within 2-3 weeks of your flight to purchase a ticket.
4 :
United out of Dulles may be your only option for non-stop besides Southwest. But, good luck trying to find one under $300 round trip since Dulles is a hub airport for United.

Bring your i-pod and books/magazines. If you have a video i-pod upload videos/movies and watch them or listen to a audio book.
2 :
your 4...? Sleep bring an ipod bring some books, a laptop...did you mean 4 or like 14 or something like that?
3 :
if you're allowed to bring a portable dvd player, bring that and about 5 movies! maybe a couple seasons of a show you've always wanted to see. that should keep you busy for awhile. also, stop by borders or any bookstore and pick up a "how to" book or informational book of some sort. that way you can pretty much read/browse the whole thing throughout your flight and learn something in the process! make sure to bring headphones for the dvd player though! :) maybe grab a neck pillow before you leave as well so you can take a nap to pass the time. have fun!!!! :)
4 :
OK I've been there and rode 1st class too. 1- they have really nice tvs 2- sleep very comfy in 1st class 3- laptop if you have one 4- a great book 5- magazines 6- any extra work you have to do 7- if you have someone with you get a deck of cards or something
5 :
R u going by yourself? if not bring some card games to keep busy with the person your going with. You can also brings books magazines, your ipod, and I'm not sure if these are allowed on planes but if they are you can bring a portable DVD player and watch DVDs. But most importantly try and get some sleep. when you sleep time flies! have a good trip!
6 :
bring several really good paperbacks. A couple magazine. Your iPod loaded with familiar and new songs/books on tape from audible.com. Bring a paper to draw on, and pencils/pens for color. If you have a nack for writing, bring a notebook, and expariment with poetry or some type of creative writing, or even start a journal for the whole time you're away. In first class, you'll have TV, meals, Drinks and such at your own bidding. IF you're a gaming sort of person, there are games on most personal TV's in First class. You may want to bring a couple sleeping tablets, so that you can nock quite a few hours off, sleeping. In first class, you don't have to worry about getting put next someone who may not be a particularly comfortable flight campanion, because the seats are at a comfortable distance apart....on MOST flights..that is. A combonation of sleep, sleep, sleep, and reading, and keeping your mind occupied should help you keep bordom from getting in your way, but no amount of walking up and down the isles will aid the restlessnes you'll feel after about 8 hours! To prevent this as much as possible, work out more than usual the day you're leaving, or, if not, the night before, to tire yourself out. If you're tired when you get on the flight, you'll be more likely to fall asleep later on, and really nock a good chunk out of the flight. As for book suggestions. Bring one book that you've already read, and really loved, and another new one. A third book could be one about O Tahiti. One that tells about the island and everything. Several books I recomend are: Stowaway by Karen Hesse Out of a the silent planet, Perrelandra, and That Hideous strenth, by C S Lewis These two books (the second is actualy a trilogy) are captivating, exciting, and educational at all levals, and should really keep you interested for a while. Have fun in Tahiti! (DOn't forget to go scuba diving and shark feeding!!!)
