I made a mistake on an inbound flight to D.C., choosing a flight into Baltimore instead.

I made a mistake on an inbound flight to D.C., choosing a flight into Baltimore instead.?
What is the best (easiest, cheapest, safest) way to travel from Baltimore Airport into D.C. Would I be better off spending the $150 on the airfare change through the airline?

It's not that hard to get from BWI into DC. Most people take the free shuttle bus from BWI airport to the BWI train station, and from there they take either the MARC commuter train or Amtrak into Washington Union Station. From Washington Union Station, you can either take the Metro subway or a cab to your final destination.

There are shuttle vans that run between BWI Airport, Dulles Airport and National Airport. It think they cost about $15...which is a heck of a lot cheaper than $150. Getting from BWI to IAD to DCA is pretty easy.

I generally used the Washington DC Metro. The B30 bus is non stop into Greenbelt Metro Station. Then the Metro to where ever you want to go. Just use BWI and then where you want to go. Blue Shuttle is one other option, MARC train and Amtrack are other ways to go. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America, currently in Pattaya, Thailand. Please pick an Best Answer, even if it is not mine.

There's an express Metrobus, the B30, every 40 minutes that travels from BWI to the Greenbelt Metro station at the end of the Green Line. I think the cash fare is $3.10. You can then catch the Metro at Greenbelt into DC. Go to www.wmata.com for more information.

It's definitely NOT worth changing your airfare. As other people have said, it is safe and cheap to travel from BWI into D.C. (and not that difficult either). I think the cheapest option is the B30 Metrobus, which is a direct express shuttling between BWI and the Greenbelt Metro station (at the end of the Green line). Then you can hop the Metro into D.C. Amtrak and MARC are also options, but from what I've heard it is fastest to use the B30 because the trains get backed up pretty frequently and make lots of stops. I've talked to people who have used the B30 bus, and they say it's straightforward. I think it even has luggage racks. Good luck!

There are no flights that fly direct from Baltimore to Cancun. You'll have to make a stop somewhere first. You can make the entire trip from Baltimore to Cancun in 5 hours, and that includes the layover. It looks like American Airlines will get you there the fastest.

There are no non-stop flights to Costa Rica from Baltimore. So, including a stop in Miami and travel time, expect your trip to be around 5.5 hours. Have a great trip!
