Can I skip a layover flight

Can I skip a layover flight?
I booked a cheap flight from Baltimore, MD to London with a rather long layover in Philadelphia. It would be more convenient for me to miss the layover and just drive to Philadelphia and board there. Can I do this or will the airline cancel my ticket? If I specifically call the airline at Baltimore will they still do this?

if you'll skip your layover, you'll not be able to get a refund for that.
2 :
You may want to call them as they can consider you a No Show and cancel your ticket. If you start your journey in Philly, the airline saves money.
3 :
yes you can

If you miss one flight the airline will cancel the rest of the itin. The computer actually is programmed to do it immediately so they can open the seat back up to sell. If you try calling to cancel it most likely you will get penalized with fees for making a routing change and most travel agency tickets are non refundable and non changeable if its sold as a bulk ticket fare. I would call your travel agent or whoever you booked through first. If you booked directly with the airline you should call their reservations dept and see what it would cost to change it.

Just take the layover and enjoy the sites. It is wonderful this time of the year.

Your ticket won't be cancelled but you most likely won't be able to get a refund for it (depending on what airline). If you have a return flight, don't worry, the ticket will still be good for your return flight.

last minute girl is exactly right. once you miss your flight they consider you a no show and cancel the rest of your itinerary. you would have to pay the change fee (if they even let you) to get your flights back... if they were even still available. you can however call the airline or travel agency and see if you change the ticket to take out the baltimore part... but you will have to pay a change fee and any fare difference. it might be better just to take the layover. you can go to one of the restaurants and eat for awhile and go shopping and make it fun. it will save you alot of money im sure. youd pay more to change it than you would going shopping.

The flight time would be 4 hours and 20 minutes... the arrival time of 1:50AM is EST... which is equal to 10:50PM "your time".
2 :
Arrival and departure times are stated in local time. (6:30 is Las Vegas, mountain standard time, 1:50 is Baltimore local, eastern standard time).

There is no non-stop plane service either between BWI and DCA or between BWI and IAD. The two airports are fairly easy to get between, though, using public transportation (buses and the DC Metro system).
2 :
No, They are too close together for any scheduled air services

Early flight out of Baltimore BWI

Early flight out of Baltimore BWI?
I have a 7am flight out of BWI, but I'm coming from DC and I realized that the public transportation (metro/buses) wouldn't be running that early. Can any one tell me the best and cheapest way to get to BWI early in the morning from DC? Help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

The Super Shuttle (1-800-blue-van) will pick you up at your doorstep. It's about $25 per address so if you're travelling with a companion, that $25 covers both of you. Forewarned, though, they get you there VERY early; they'll probably pick you up at 4 for a 7am flight.

The first MARC train leaves DC at 5:54 AM arriving at BWI by 6:26AM. With the shuttle bus, you'll make it to the terminal with enough time to use echeck-in if the security lines are not a mile long. {EDIT} Amtrak has Train 110 which leaves DC at 4 AM arriving at BWI Airport at 4:28 AM. With the shuttle bus, you can arrive at BWI by 4 AM when the airport is just stirring to life. Train 180 leaves DC at 5:25 AM and arrives at BWI at 5:52 AM. The tickets are $12 but could be cheaper because I used 10/16 as the departure date. DC Metro starts running at 5 AM and if you can make it to a Metro station, you can make it to Union Station and to the airport.
