Depends where in Pennsylvania. From Philadelphia, it's faster to take the train since it goes downtown to downtown and you don't have to fool around at the airport at each end. It takes a little over an hour. From Pittsburgh, Southwest flies non-stop to Baltimore-Washington airport, also taking a little over an hour, plus the time to get to and from the airports.

You could research the current flight rates on Travelocity, Hotwire, Sidestep or any of the airline websites. Then you could go to priceline and try to undercut the going rate by naming your own price. You have to be fairly close to the going rate though or they will refuse your bid. Try to fly on Tue, Wed or Thurs if you can. Red-eye flights are cheapest.

Have you tried Mobissimo? Mobissimo checks the same places that Orbits & Travelocity does, as well as several sites they do not such as Southwest.

Check Southwest Airlines. Unfortunately the travel search engines like "Orbitz", "Expedia" or "Travelocity" don't carry Southwest Airlines.

cheaptickets.com; orbitz.com. I've gotten the best results from these two sites. If you have more time, you can check the others (travelocity and what not). Book in advance (at least 2 wks prior to departure date) and mid-week to secure better rates. Also, if u go during a major holiday, u risk getting worse rates.

About 6 hours and 45 minutes. Since Anchorage is 4 hours behind Baltimore, you would only gain two hours on your flight i.e. if you left at Baltimore at 10 am you would arrive in Anchorage around 12:45 pm. If you left Anchorage at 10 am, you would arrive in Baltimore at 8:45 pm. You would add 4 hours onto the flight time because Baltimore is 4 hours ahead of Anchorage.

There are no airports in Manhattan. I assume that you mean one of the three airports serving greater NYC. Flight time from BWI to New York is very short. Maybe 1 hour.

The flight from Baltimore, MD to New York, NY is about 1 hour 10 minutes. If you had a car, you could drive it and save yourself some time and money. The drive is only about 190 miles which would take you about 3-1/2 hours. Most domestic flights require you to get to the airport 2 hours before your flight. And when you arrive at JFK airport, it will take another 45 minutes to get into Manhattan by taxi.

So short, you won't even have time to get airsick. But as another poster said, you have to check in early for the flight, and there's the travel time from your NYC airport to Manhattan. Try Amtrak. The trains go right into the heart of the city, and the overall travel time should be comparable.

If you were to fly from BWI in Baltimore to the Wall Street Heliport in Manhattan it would be approx. 40 min by helicopter.
