Your not allowed to use electronic devices on take off or landing, as for during I'm not sure, some let you, some don't. Do not worry about flying, it's the safest way of getting from A-B even after 9/11. The odds of dying in a plane crash are 1 in 391,000, while the odds of dying in a car crash are 1 in 6,200 so you are 63 times safer in a plane than in a car.

Calm down, Jedi - neither the government, the airline, or your mom and dad would let you go flying if it wasn't safe! And the pilot and crew wouldn't go if they were concerned! As to all That paraphernalia you are considering taking on board - I would suggest not to. It differs from airline to airline, but you may not Be allowed to operate any of that equipment while the airplane is in flight - for safety reasons - which you're very concerned about, right? Instead, bring a good book. The airline will probably have ear phones for you to listen to music over. Then just read, relax, and enjoy the flight! Remember, many hundreds of thousands of people fly every day all over the world without any incidents. flying is absolutely the safest way for you to get to Baltimore. Much safer, for example, than driving. Probably why your parents are taking the plane! Have a fun flight!

Just calm down, relax, everything is alright............... OMG what the hell is that! Its tie fighters coming from the rear! But seriously relax the chances of an aircraft your flying on getting hijacked is probably the same as before 9/11. I'm not sure but the electronic toys and equipment you bring out during the flight will vary depending on the airline, type of airplane, the time, and the condition the airplane is in. Oh and remember JEDI HAVE NO FEAR. Also if you see any middle eastern looking people don't act stupid or very worried in front of them because they might feel offended or think your stereotyping them.

Calm down... Take a Valium.

i work for NWA airlines and as far as electronic devices are concerned you may use a laptop after takeoff. a CD player is allowed as well as the Nintendo if you play it muted. a talking plush toy will cause no problems for anyone, (unless you make it talk all the time). as far as the light saber goes it's kinda bulky and will take up much space you would be best to put it with checked baggage. you are only allowed 2 bags of carry on luggage and since your not 5 that is alot of toy stuff to take onboard with you. and if your such a big star wars fanatic why are you asking people to tell you all about star wars.

You need advice, not advise - Your advice is simply "chill out!" How many flights have gone wrong since 9/11? How many before? Out of hundreds of thousands worldwide each day how many have you heard of going wrong? Enjoy it, look out of the window and just appreciate the views. No need to get paranoid over something that won't happen. You're more at risk driving to the airport!

What is the cheapest route from BWI to IAD?
My flight into and out of Chicago has been cancelled due to weather. So I had to change going into BWI/Baltimore and I have to find the cheapest route to IAD/Dulles. I have a flight going out of Dulles the next day to Africa at 11 am. Can some one please help?

The cheapest way to make this connection is to use public transit, which will cost you about $17. This can be done using the following steps: 1) At BWI, board the B30 WMATA bus that runs between the airport and the Greenbelt Metro stop -- the schedule for the bus is located at the first link below. This bus runs every 30 to 40 minutes, and costs $6 per person one-way. 2) At Greenbelt, board the Green Metro line towards Branch Avenue -- this is the only direction it goes from this station, as Greenbelt is the end of the Green line. You'll want to transfer to the Orange Line at L'Enfant Plaza -- specifically boarding the Orange Line towards Vienna/Fairfax--GMU -- and get off at the Rosslyn stop. (The cost for the Metro will depend on the time of the day, but it will not exceed $5.05.) 3) At Rosslyn, board the 5A bus to Dulles -- the schedule for this bus is located at the second link below. Like the B30 bus, the 5A bus runs every 40 minutes to an hour, depending on the day and the time of day, and also costs $6 each way. I'd note that the schedules for the buses are not 24 hours -- if you need to get from BWI into Washington really early or really late, you'll need to consider taking Amtrak or a MARC train from BWI Airport to Washington Union Station -- MARC has a train as early as 5am that runs to Union Station, and Amtrak has trains running as late as midnight -- but those may cost more (Amtrak costs $14, though MARC is only $6). The drawback to MARC, though, is that it only runs Monday through Friday -- so if you're looking to do this on a Saturday, then it isn't an option for you. The last option you can consider is the Washington Flyer bus, which runs nonstop from the West Falls Church Metro line (on the Orange line) to Dulles every 30 minutes, at a cost of $10 one-way. It's a bit more expensive, but it runs more often than the 5A bus, so it may be of use to you if you're trying to make this journey and time is of the essence. You'd still need to follow the options above to get to West Falls Church -- again, though, it's on the Orange line in the same direction as Rosslyn, but about seven stops further down the line.

Were you not able to get a flight into Reagan National either? That would be closer to IAD than BWI. If you don't want to go through the long process of public trans from BWI to IAD you can always hire a taxi, the fare would run you about $150 though.

Which airline is the best for flying to france

Which airline is the best for flying to france?
I am planning a trip to Marseille France in the near future, and I want to know the best airlines for traveling over seas. I live in baltimore and would be flying out of BWI. It would be nice to have a less expensive flight, but I don't want to fly about 7 hours in a smelly plane :( If anyone has any personal experiences and would like to help me out I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

I am pretty sure that Southwest do not charge anything. You just cancel and they give you 100% Southwest credit valid for 12 months and it is transferable to another passenger. I fly with them a lot and change flights all the time and have never had to pay.
2 :
As in every airline Southwest has different fares on the same route, the closer it is to the departure date, the more expensive it is. If you could change a ticket to another date which costs the same as the original one, they don't usually charge. But if make a new booking too close to the departure date you would have to pay for the difference in the fare and that would mean more money even without any change fee. The average cost should be around double. Southwest is also one of the very few airlines that let you change the dates online without having to call. But if you don't have a set date yet, call them and tell them you need to reschedule.
3 :
As has been noted by other answers, Southwest does not charge change fees in order to change a ticket with their airline. If a ticket needs to be changed, 100 percent of the value of the ticket can be applied to a new ticket, meaning that the only costs that would need to be borne, if any, are to pay the price difference between the old ticket and the new ticket. You'll want to contact Southwest before takeoff of the flight today (in other words, as soon as possible) to cancel the original ticket, so that you do not jeopardize losing the value of the ticket. (Many airline tickets become worthless if they are not cancelled before the departure time, if they are not used.)
