The "minus number" is the deviation from local time in that city to Greenwich Mean Time, which is the local time in Greenwich, England that people use as a standard for travel across different time zones. It's also called Zulu (Z) time. When an airline lists its departure and arrival times, this is the local times for the departure and arrival cities. So, if you have a flight that leaves time zone -6 at 2 PM and it arrives in time zone -8 at 5 PM, the local time difference between the two cities is two hours. That is, when you leave the -6 time zone at 2 PM, it's actually only 12 noon in the -8 time zone. And, if you arrive at 5 PM, then your total time of travel is 5 hours. In the first problem, the time zone in Dallas (-6) is the same as the time zone in Pensacola (-6). So, the actual flight time is simply the arrival time minus the departure time. And, 3:36 - 1:07 = 1:29. For the second problem, you're leaving a time zone that is east of the arrival time zone by 3 hours (8 minus 5 = 3). So, when you leave Baltimore at 10:00 AM, it's actually 7:00 AM Las Vegas time. And, if the flight arrives at 1:32 PM, that's actually 6:32 hours of total flight time (7 AM to noon is 5 hours, plus the 1:32 when the plane lands). For the rest of the problems, you just need to figure out what the time difference is between arrival and departure cities (the difference between the minus numbers), determine what the actual time of departure is in the arrival city, and then add up the hours and minutes the flight actually takes.

bahamas vacations

bahamas vacations?
In 2002 I took a direct flight from Baltimore to the Bahamas. I'm not sure what the plane was called. Something like Grand Bahama or something. I can't seem to find such a plane anymore. Has anyone heard of a direct flight I guess sponsored by the Bahamas

Maybe Bahamasair.com?
2 :
check out expedia.com or travelocity.com if its not there the flight doesnt exist. Bahamasair is the bahamian plane company Grand Bahama is one of the islands
3 :
Um... Grand Bahama is the island where I live.. so that probably isn't an airline. BahamasAir is the national airlines. We have some other ones flying here too but they're from the states... (eg American Airlines, United etc)
4 :
Like the other say ...perhaps Bahamas Air, but i do not think it goes direct..you may want to check out travel sites to get that information...and for Gods sake...do not use Orbitz

How much time should I allot for connections in Cleveland

How much time should I allot for connections in Cleveland?
Im taking a Continental flight (with no luggage-only carry on) from to Washington Reagan by way of Cleveland. My connection time is only 54 minutes, and its the last flight to Washington Reagan of the night. There are later flights to Washington Dulles and Baltimore. I have to be in Washington on that next day. Is Cleveland a reliable airport, and is Continental good about connections and getting you on a plane back home?

Hello, Yes, yes, and yes. Cleveland is a good airport. It's not very congested compared to Denver, LA, and Atlanta. You shouldn't have any issues unless the weather gets bad. In that case, they will either delay the flight a little bit or get you on another one. That usually won't happen, though. Continental is an awesome airline. I really like flying with them. -Happy flying!
