Why does my flight from Baltimore to NY take almost as long as NY to Pittsburgh

Why does my flight from Baltimore to NY take almost as long as NY to Pittsburgh?
I am flying from Baltimore to Pittsburgh with a stop at JFK. I noticed it will take 1h 27m to get to new york and 1h 50m to get to Pittsburgh. But Pittsburgh is twice as many miles in distance from NY as Baltimore is. I am just curious. Thanks

JFK is a busy airport so the airlines build in some extra time to account for congestion as you may be circling around until the tower gives the airplane permission to land. The actual flight time is really not that long.
