If I put an Xbox 360 console in a suitcase, do you think it'd be at high risk to be stolen in baggage check?
This would be a local flight, from Baltimore to Miami.

What's a good site for cheap flights to the US from England
What's a good site for cheap flights to the US from England?
There'a a million sites claiming to offer cheap flights but they're all awful. I'm not very well traveled, so does anyone know a place I can get a flight to Baltimore MD next July and back home to London for less than £600?

Best bet is the airline sites or expidia.com

There are many booking sites, but only a few quality one's. Try Lastminute.com or Travelocity: they usually offer the cheapest deals worldwide. You find them and some other selected booking sites here: http://www.willgoto.com/1/023798/liens.aspx Also travel midweek (instead of weekend) and book as soon as possible. Then you may get actually the cheapest deals .

parking and checking in at Baltimore airport
parking and checking in at Baltimore airport?
Hi, we have a 6am flight from BWI (Baltimore). How easy is it to park your car, get the shuttle bus and check in. We need to check in some luggage.... do we need to get there early to make sure our luggage arrives at the other end? any advice much appreciated! thanks

I'm not sure how often the shuttle bus runs that early in the morning, but you should usually get to the airport 2 hours before your departure time 3 for international flights. BWI isn't a very busy airport, I got to the airport an hour before my flight left on christmas weekend and still made my flight. You cannot check luggage after 45 minutes before your departure time and cannot get a boarding pass 30 minutes before. Also if you live close to the lightrail in Baltimore look into taking it to BWI, $1.60 each way beats $8.00 a day parking.

Is there a place to buy discounted tickets for southwest airlines? What are all the discount sites for airfare
Is there a place to buy discounted tickets for southwest airlines? What are all the discount sites for airfare
Orbitz, expedia, priceline, and travelocity don't list southwest airlines. I am trying to find the cheapest flight from Baltimore to Reno. It doesn't havet o be southwest, but they allow 2 free checked bags. What are other discount airfare sites?

Southwest does not sell tickets on any website other than their own. If you want to fly Southwest, you have to buy directly from them or from a travel agent. You can also try kayak.com. Kayak does not sell tickets, but it shops many other websites and combines the results into one list. You can then go to the website with the lowest price to buy.
2 :
http://www.bookingbuddy.com will check all of the rest for you. It covers Kayak, Orbitz, Cheaptickets, airlines direct, consolidators, discounters, sale fares, aggregators, site-scrapers, etc. etc. all in 1 go, with no additional booking fees. It's a huge time saver.
3 :
Southwest does not appear on anyone else's web site. Sometimes it pays to look at Wikipedia website and see who flies there. There is only one non-stop destination from Reno Airport to the East Coast, and that is Atlanta. You will have to change flights. ============================ For that flight, I doubt that anyone will beat Southwest. ============================ I don't think you will get much lower than $446 (round trip)

Do I need travel insurance if my flight is canceled
Do I need travel insurance if my flight is canceled?
It's expected to snow in England and I have a flight from here to Baltimore next Thursday. I've never flown before, so I don't know if travel insurance is to cover you for getting injured, or if it has anything to do with flights and such. If my flight is canceled, will I get put onto another flight if I do not have insurance? Also, how much snow is required to disrupt flights? Snow over here doesn't tend to get very deep.

You'd better get the insurance BEFORE you go.
2 :
You do not need insurance to get put on another flight if the flight is canceled. The airline puts you on a later flight (if it is because of a snowstorm, it could be several days later) and does not charge you additional money. You may need money to pay for a hotel room near the airport if you do not want to go back home to wait.
3 :
Well you don't have to bother for that, flight company will arrange it for you.

Around 8 to 9 hours approximatley
2 :
I'm not sure.
3 :
My guess would be between 8 and 10 hours, depending on where in Germany the flight would be departing from and the type of aircraft being used. A standard commercial flight from Frankfurt to Washington is about 8 1/2 hours.
4 :
Hello, It really depends on the aircraft you are flying on. If you can get on a KC-135 or KC-10, these planes fly at over 600 mph. If you get on a C-5, it will take longer because it flys at 541 mph. The plane you won't want is the KC-130. It flys at 362 mph. Sometimes you don't have a choice of planes but if you do, choose one of the faster ones and the trip will take between 8-10 hours. Donna
5 :
If you were to get a direct flight from Berlin to Baltimore it would be approx. 9 Hrs 12 Min. You can get flight times and distances for airports all over the world at http://www.jets.com/ http://www.legfind.com/EDDT_airport_BERLIN.aspx http://www.legfind.com/KBWI_airport_BALTIMORE.aspx
6 :
World Airways / ATA operate these flights, mostly with their MD10s and 11s. The flight should take 8.5 to 9 hours, max.
??? Thanks in advance!

No ways. After you check in your luggage you are given a boarding pass. You go through passport control and wait for your flight to board. When your gate opens you have to show your boarding pass and sometimes your passport too. When you board your flight, the flight attendant checks your seat number and directs you where to sit. So, no, if it was that easy, wouldn't we all do it!!!
2 :
No. Right before you board, at the flight gate, they check your boarding pass once again.
3 :
no you can't. First, you have to show a boarding pass at the gate which is scanned...the scanner is programmed to read valid boarding passes for that particular destination. If your boarding pass doesn't match the names on the flight manifest, you'll be directed to your correct gate. Hypothetically...what would you do when you got to Europe. Do you always carry a passport when going to Baltimore? When you get to Europe, they'll want to check your passport AND match it with your return ticket. Don't have either?? Back on the airplane you go, and back to the US. Once you're back?? No passport?? oh oh...how are you going to get back into the US without any valid proof you're a citizen? Say you carry your passport and SOMEHOW fall through the cracks, and manage to board a Europe bound jet. How will you get back?? you hold a ticket from Baltimore to BFE...not from Europe to BFE...if the GOD's truly are in your favor that day, you manage to pass through Euro-immigration without a return ticket...voila! Enjoy your vacation. Now to come back! oooops! Can't use that Baltimore ticket...gonna have to buy one, and one-way fares from Europe plus the departure taxes aren't cheap. It's a fun concept bud, but...if it were all that easy, don't you think everyone would be trying it?? Good luck! (something eles you might need to know...intentionally done...it's called stealing...just fyi).
4 :
No, you can't get on another flight. Before you go on the plane, they double check your boarding pass to make sure you're at the right one. When I was flying home from NYC a month ago, someone in front of me tried to do that. One of the employees told him he was at the wrong terminal and had someone escort him to the correct one.
5 :
"Could" you? Maybe. People do sometimes get on the wrong flight. It should not be possible, but in the real world it is. But don't count on it. And as has been pointed out already, even if you did your troubles would only be beginning.

Anyone know about flight information from Baltimore to Seattle
Anyone know about flight information from Baltimore to Seattle?
My brothers, mom, and I are flying from Baltimore to Seattle for our Alaska cruise this July. I know that it will be kind of long, since we are flying to the other side of the country. Also, we have to cross three time zones, so we'll probably have some jet lag. Does anybody have more info about this flight (not this particular one, just cross-country flights in general)? I'm not sure about the airline, but do all airlines do the same things for flights like this one? Will they have snack boxes? I love those things :). Also, will they show a movie during the flight since it will take a few hours? If anyone can help be, that would be great! I'm not scared to fly on a plane, I just want to know some info about flights tot he other side of the country. i have flown many times before, including twice to Mexico. okay, my husband is in the army, we had to go from cali to germany, over 13 hours of flying alone. I so feel lucky your only going to be on for a few hours lol. Okay, we flew from cali to indy in christmas 08, thats pretty much accross country, we flew delta then, they will have sodas, coffee, juce, water and snacks, DEPENDING on the time your flying they may even have a meal. The will more then likely show a movie, they usually do if the flight is longer the 2 1/2 hours. Don't be nervous, Flying scared me to death until i married a service man, now we fly all the time and i am just used to it. Jet lag is probably going to happen, but if your going BEHIND in time, it is easier to get over, going from cali to germany with a 9 hour time diffrence was HARD. we had jet lag for weeks lol, but you will be fine. If your worried about not getting snacks or a meal on the plane, AFTER you go threw security, you can stop at a mcdonalds or whatever in the terminal and bring it on board, AS LONG AS YOU GET FOOD AFTER security that is fine. You can also get a starbucks or something else too. If your worried they may not have a movie and you may grow board, bring your cd player or i pod, and or a nintendo DS or psp a book or whatever, the flight attendents will let you know when its okay to use them, you can even bring your laptop, as long as you keep the wireless OFF. I hope this helps you! :) happy flying and enjoy your cruise! lol sorry if i implied you were scared, many people are so i just thought i would throw that in there

There are tips you can do to help with jet lag. Just view my site on jet lag tips.

It depends on the airline you are flying with. Some airlines will show a movie while others will not. Also it depends on if your flight is non-stop or one where there are stops. Shorter flights usually do not show a movie. As for the snack box, I would not be surprised if they sell them but it doesn't hurt to eat something before boarding. As for the cross-country flight, you will be gaining hours so I suggest you try to sleep as much as you can on the flight there. That way you can stay up a little longer when it is night and you can adjust to the time zone change better.
It's hard for me to sleep on planes since I'm sometimes looking out the window to see what it's like down below :) but if I have to I will

okay, my husband is in the army, we had to go from cali to germany, over 13 hours of flying alone. I so feel lucky your only going to be on for a few hours lol. Okay, we flew from cali to indy in christmas 08, thats pretty much accross country, we flew delta then, they will have sodas, coffee, juce, water and snacks, DEPENDING on the time your flying they may even have a meal. The will more then likely show a movie, they usually do if the flight is longer the 2 1/2 hours. its going to be a great game. we're playing a tough team and shouldnt get cocky. hell this might even be a better game than the super bowl.
2 :
Not a question. But yes, Steelers will win. Flacco won't do anything against the Steeler defense, and since the running game his diminished for the Ravens, too much pressure is on the Raven defense to win. And the Steelers offense his been hot lately, so I think the Ravens are outmtached at every aspect. Steelers 21, Ravens 13

You can believe what you want, but it won't do anything once the Ravens win on sunday. I'm sorry that you have to be a steelers fan.
5 :
I'd put a gag ball in your mouth before you jinx them. Hopefully the Steelers win, but don't underestimate Baltimore. That defense looks familiar to the SB Ravens.
6 :
well u know the titans were so confident. and look at where that got them ;) spectating just like us so if those squeelerz come in like that they might as well start planning their superbowl parties as spectators lol. so pleeze don't underestimate my team. and after the game when we win pleeze keep in touch with us rav3nz fanz so we can rub it in ur....FACE!!
7 :
steelers are going down the ravens defense will get to much pressure on rothlesberger and then Pittsburgh run game will only be ok and the ravens are going to win. It will be a great games and i agree that it will probably be better than the suberbowl
8 :
I'm sorry but these over confident Steeler fans are really pissing me off this week. The ravens seem like one of the toughest opponents left in the playoffs so they arent going to be easy to beat. With that being said, i do believe the Steelers can win and here's why: 1. They have more experience in the playoffs 2. They have the #1 defence in the league. 3. Joe Flacco is still a rookie QB so he is probably going to have alot of pressure on him that he's not quite ready for. 4. The Steelers have home field advantage. (That place gets so loud its not even funny) I DO NOT think the Steelers are going to "clip their wings" on Sunday because these are two the best defensive teams in the league. May the better or well prepared team win.
9 :
The Ravens will be going back to Baltimore with the AFC Championship! Pittsburgh may have the number one defense, but Baltimore is number 2 by not that much. Both teams are eveny matched on offense and defense. The game could go either way. Don't expect a high scoring game, and this game has a good chance or going into overtime It will probably come down to field position, field goals, and defense. Baltimore will come out on top. Sorry, Pittsburgh, not this year! I know it'll be a long time till September (The Pirates? hahaha!).
10 :
i agree.GO STEELERS
11 :
no ravens all the way they have a better defense plus mcgahee and heap RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!
12 :
I think that the Steelers should win but it very hard to beat a team three times in one season. The teams are a lot like each other. And while Flaco should be better this time around having already faced the Steelers at home I still have more faith that Big Ben would be able to win the game more. I do worry about what would happen if Big Ben gets hit hard in the head.

Extra flights I don't need, can I cancel them? Flying from Baltimore to New York to DC to Mexico City
Extra flights I don't need, can I cancel them? Flying from Baltimore to New York to DC to Mexico City?
I can save like $200 by purchasing a flight that leaves baltimore then goes to new york, then to DC and on to Mexico, as opposed to buying the one from DC straight to Mexico. Can I talk to the airline and get the new york flights canceled and just fly from DC to Mexico? I'm flying with United airlines.

I am a pilot for US Airways, and I have flew a couple of these crazy routes myself, while on vacation. I would say yes, but I am not a reservation/gate agent. No one on this site may be able to tell you the answer, because it really depends upon how the reservation/gate agents day is going. What you can do, is just show up at the DC airport, and check in their for your flight. Missing these other segments shouldn't matter. The people at United's counter can just delete them, its as simple as clicking a little X, thats marked delete. No, none of my answer is incorrect. The answer below me is incorrect, for calling mine incorrect. I am certain if you speak with an airline agent, you may be able to remove these flights, but dingus below be may be right about the change fee. Most airlines charge a damn fee now, to change how your flight segments are alligned. But, I have done it many times, free of charge. Enjoy your trip. Be carefull in Mexico, I'm hubed in Phoenix. I know how it is down there.
2 :
Every single piece of advice given to you in the first answer is wrong. If you call and ask to cancel the first leg, they will reprice the ticket to what it would cost for the DC to Mexico portion, as well as charge you the change fee for that. In other words, you would end up paying more for the ticket than if you just bought the ticket leaving from Baltimore and flew those extra segments. You also can't simply fail to show up for the flight from Baltimore and then expect to get on at DC -- once you miss the first flight, all remaining legs on the itinerary are automatically cancelled. This is something that is done automatically by the reservation system computer -- gate agents usually don't have the flexibility to override this. EDIT: The link below is from United Airlines' contract of carriage -- this is the document that governs the rights and responsibilities of passengers and the airline when a ticket is purchased from UA. Rule 135, which governs cancellation of tickets, says the following: "IF THE PASSENGER FAILS TO OCCUPY SPACE WHICH HAS BEEN RESERVED FOR HIM/HER ON A UA FLIGHT, AND UA FAILS TO RECEIVE NOTICE OF THE CANCELLATION OF SUCH RESERVATION PRIOR TO THE DEPARTURE OF SUCH FLIGHT; OR IF ANY CARRIER CANCELS THE RESERVATION OF ANY PASSENGER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS RULE, UA WILL CANCEL ALL RESERVATIONS HELD BY SUCH PASSENGER ON THE FLIGHTS OF UA FOR CONTINUING OR RETURN SPACE, PROVIDED UA ORIGINALLY RESERVED THAT SPACE." (See page 18 of the PDF if you don't believe me.) The personal attacks in response to my post have been noted and bear no further comment.

I am flying from Baltimore, Md to Sarasota, Fl and I have a connecting flight in Atlanta, I only have 40 mins.
I am flying from Baltimore to Sarasota and my connecting flight is in Atlanta. I have never been to Atlanta's airport before and I know it is a very large airport. I am flying Delta for both flights. I only have 45 mins to catch my flight, am I going to make it?!

You are pushing it. As you say the airport is huge. Perhaps you can find out ahead of time what gates each flight arrives/departs from. Maybe they are close to each other and you will be fine. At least they are same airline so that is a possibility, but if you are in different terminals, You're going to have to move it.
2 :
I was there yesterday-- if you hustle-you can just make it if your connecting gate is on the complete opposite side of the airport.
3 :
If you have delta for both flights they will make sure you make your connection. Let you flight attendant know on your first flight and she will expedite your trip through the airport. They might even provide a golf cart for you. Just let them know. You won't have a problem.
4 :
I have traveled alot and stoped at atlanta before and one rule when geting connecting flights is stay on the same airline unless u have bout 4 hours of delay........so your good, ur other plane needs to be close to the one you get off from.
5 :
I have had much, much less time to connect to another flight--even from one end of the airport to another--Since you're connecting with the same carrier (Delta), then look for a Delta rep. when you get off in Atlanta, but don't go out of your way, and let them know you're situation...they should be helpful. 45 minutes is plenty of time to connect unless you smoke and want a few drinks before boarding. Good luck...no worries, you also wouldn't be the first person running through an airport. I do both and still make it.

Probably the airline's website directly is the best option. I fly a lot for work so I book a lot of travel. I always check expedia.com or orbitz.com or one of those sites, and see which airline has the cheapest flights. Then, I go to that airline's website and pick the exact same flights, and more than 99% of the time I get the exact same fare. Except, most of those websites charge a "booking fee" of $5 or more so it's actually cheaper through the airline. And many airlines guarantee that you will get the cheapest fare through their own website. I know American Airlines does this and probably most others do also. Also, many of the "low-fare" airlines (Southwest, JetBlue) do not list their fares on those websites so you actually have to go to the airline's websites. However, most of the time I find those airlines to be at least as expensive as other airlines. And also those airlines don't fly into Miami, you'd have to go to Ft. Lauderdale (and JetBlue only goes out of Washington-Dulles) so if those airports are less convenient, then you have to take that into consideration. Sometimes Southwest Airlines is like $10 cheaper than other airlines but I'd have to fly out of an airport an hour away, and it would cost more than that for me to get to the airport. But I digress. Probably with the airline directly is cheaper.
3 :
Try southwest to west palm beach. You will be good to go.
4 :
Prabably cheaptickets.com or expedia.com, or travelocity.com will help. I sometimes use www. airliners.net, too.
5 :
Check Southwest from BWI to Ft Lauderdale. FLL is a much nicer airport than Miami. Smaller and easier to get around.
6 :
I think cheapoair will help you on this - I used them for all my bookings......if you feel like that then you can try.... pal..

Flight Changeover in Baltimore question.
Flight Changeover in Baltimore question.?
I'm gonna be flying out of Norfolk, VA in August.. heading to Fort Lauderdale, FL; there's a 45min changeover in Baltimore. The Flight is an early morning flight leaving Norfolk at 6:55AM and arriving in Baltimore at 7:45AM. I'm flying South West Air and 45Min is the longest changeover they have available for a Norfolk to Ft. Lauderdale flight. I know that it'll be enough time for me to transfer from gate to gate, but Will that be enough time for our luggage to be transferred from one plane to the next?

It should be because i had a 35 min layover in Detroit to Grand rapids. it got there in time.
2 :
Oh yes that's plenty of times. When I went to Jackson Hole, WY, the layover in Salt Lake City was like 45 minutes but we were delayed and we got there probably 20 minutes before the flight left and we got our luggage transferred with out a problem.
3 :
Depends, the shorter you leave it the less chance there is. Anecdotal evidence from other airports isn't helpful. There is always a chance for a bag not to make the flight.
4 :
THATS CUTTING IT CLOSE! your luggage may or may not get there

Can I skip a layover flight
Can I skip a layover flight?
I booked a cheap flight from Baltimore, MD to London with a rather long layover in Philadelphia. It would be more convenient for me to miss the layover and just drive to Philadelphia and board there. Can I do this or will the airline cancel my ticket? If I specifically call the airline at Baltimore will they still do this?
Air Travel - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
if you'll skip your layover, you'll not be able to get a refund for that.
2 :
You may want to call them as they can consider you a No Show and cancel your ticket. If you start your journey in Philly, the airline saves money.
3 :
yes you can
4 :
If you miss one flight the airline will cancel the rest of the itin. The computer actually is programmed to do it immediately so they can open the seat back up to sell. If you try calling to cancel it most likely you will get penalized with fees for making a routing change and most travel agency tickets are non refundable and non changeable if its sold as a bulk ticket fare. I would call your travel agent or whoever you booked through first. If you booked directly with the airline you should call their reservations dept and see what it would cost to change it.
5 :
Just take the layover and enjoy the sites. It is wonderful this time of the year.
6 :
Your ticket won't be cancelled but you most likely won't be able to get a refund for it (depending on what airline). If you have a return flight, don't worry, the ticket will still be good for your return flight.
7 :
last minute girl is exactly right. once you miss your flight they consider you a no show and cancel the rest of your itinerary. you would have to pay the change fee (if they even let you) to get your flights back... if they were even still available. you can however call the airline or travel agency and see if you change the ticket to take out the baltimore part... but you will have to pay a change fee and any fare difference. it might be better just to take the layover. you can go to one of the restaurants and eat for awhile and go shopping and make it fun. it will save you alot of money im sure. youd pay more to change it than you would going shopping.

You may want to call them as they can consider you a No Show and cancel your ticket. If you start your journey in Philly, the airline saves money.

yes you can

The flight time would be 4 hours and 20 minutes... the arrival time of 1:50AM is EST... which is equal to 10:50PM "your time".
2 :
Arrival and departure times are stated in local time. (6:30 is Las Vegas, mountain standard time, 1:50 is Baltimore local, eastern standard time).

No, They are too close together for any scheduled air services

Early flight out of Baltimore BWI
Early flight out of Baltimore BWI?
I have a 7am flight out of BWI, but I'm coming from DC and I realized that the public transportation (metro/buses) wouldn't be running that early. Can any one tell me the best and cheapest way to get to BWI early in the morning from DC? Help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

The Super Shuttle (1-800-blue-van) will pick you up at your doorstep. It's about $25 per address so if you're travelling with a companion, that $25 covers both of you. Forewarned, though, they get you there VERY early; they'll probably pick you up at 4 for a 7am flight.
2 :
The first MARC train leaves DC at 5:54 AM arriving at BWI by 6:26AM. With the shuttle bus, you'll make it to the terminal with enough time to use echeck-in if the security lines are not a mile long. {EDIT} Amtrak has Train 110 which leaves DC at 4 AM arriving at BWI Airport at 4:28 AM. With the shuttle bus, you can arrive at BWI by 4 AM when the airport is just stirring to life. Train 180 leaves DC at 5:25 AM and arrives at BWI at 5:52 AM. The tickets are $12 but could be cheaper because I used 10/16 as the departure date. DC Metro starts running at 5 AM and if you can make it to a Metro station, you can make it to Union Station and to the airport.

It depends on where in Pennsylvania you're flying from -- if a flight existed, for example, between Philadelphia and Baltimore, it would probably take less than half an hour -- however, a flight between Pittsburgh and Baltimore would probably take an hour or so. Additionally, the flight time will depend on the type of plane used -- shorter flights such as these typically use regional jets or other small planes that are slower in flight than larger commercial jets.
3 :
Depends where in Pennsylvania. From Philadelphia, it's faster to take the train since it goes downtown to downtown and you don't have to fool around at the airport at each end. It takes a little over an hour. From Pittsburgh, Southwest flies non-stop to Baltimore-Washington airport, also taking a little over an hour, plus the time to get to and from the airports.

You could research the current flight rates on Travelocity, Hotwire, Sidestep or any of the airline websites. Then you could go to priceline and try to undercut the going rate by naming your own price. You have to be fairly close to the going rate though or they will refuse your bid. Try to fly on Tue, Wed or Thurs if you can. Red-eye flights are cheapest.
2 :
Have you tried Mobissimo? Mobissimo checks the same places that Orbits & Travelocity does, as well as several sites they do not such as Southwest.
3 :
Check Southwest Airlines. Unfortunately the travel search engines like "Orbitz", "Expedia" or "Travelocity" don't carry Southwest Airlines.
4 :
cheaptickets.com; orbitz.com. I've gotten the best results from these two sites. If you have more time, you can check the others (travelocity and what not). Book in advance (at least 2 wks prior to departure date) and mid-week to secure better rates. Also, if u go during a major holiday, u risk getting worse rates.

About 6 hours and 45 minutes. Since Anchorage is 4 hours behind Baltimore, you would only gain two hours on your flight i.e. if you left at Baltimore at 10 am you would arrive in Anchorage around 12:45 pm. If you left Anchorage at 10 am, you would arrive in Baltimore at 8:45 pm. You would add 4 hours onto the flight time because Baltimore is 4 hours ahead of Anchorage.

There are no airports in Manhattan. I assume that you mean one of the three airports serving greater NYC. Flight time from BWI to New York is very short. Maybe 1 hour.
2 :
The flight from Baltimore, MD to New York, NY is about 1 hour 10 minutes. If you had a car, you could drive it and save yourself some time and money. The drive is only about 190 miles which would take you about 3-1/2 hours. Most domestic flights require you to get to the airport 2 hours before your flight. And when you arrive at JFK airport, it will take another 45 minutes to get into Manhattan by taxi.
3 :
So short, you won't even have time to get airsick. But as another poster said, you have to check in early for the flight, and there's the travel time from your NYC airport to Manhattan. Try Amtrak. The trains go right into the heart of the city, and the overall travel time should be comparable.
4 :
If you were to fly from BWI in Baltimore to the Wall Street Heliport in Manhattan it would be approx. 40 min by helicopter.

If Greyhound isn't an option, you'd have to take Amtrak up to Philly and then switch to a westbound train to Harrisburg. Options run anywhere between $57 and $91 depending on the trains being taken. On Greyhound's website, I found 2 buses from downtown Baltimore to Harrisburg. One leaves at 7:05am and the other leaves at 1:15pm.

If you fly in to John Wayne Airport (Orange County) you can be in PS in 2 hours, but the flight time will be about the same.

It's not that hard to get from BWI into DC. Most people take the free shuttle bus from BWI airport to the BWI train station, and from there they take either the MARC commuter train or Amtrak into Washington Union Station. From Washington Union Station, you can either take the Metro subway or a cab to your final destination.
2 :
There are shuttle vans that run between BWI Airport, Dulles Airport and National Airport. It think they cost about $15...which is a heck of a lot cheaper than $150. Getting from BWI to IAD to DCA is pretty easy.
3 :
I generally used the Washington DC Metro. The B30 bus is non stop into Greenbelt Metro Station. Then the Metro to where ever you want to go. Just use BWI and then where you want to go. Blue Shuttle is one other option, MARC train and Amtrack are other ways to go. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America, currently in Pattaya, Thailand. Please pick an Best Answer, even if it is not mine.
4 :
There's an express Metrobus, the B30, every 40 minutes that travels from BWI to the Greenbelt Metro station at the end of the Green Line. I think the cash fare is $3.10. You can then catch the Metro at Greenbelt into DC. Go to www.wmata.com for more information.
5 :
It's definitely NOT worth changing your airfare. As other people have said, it is safe and cheap to travel from BWI into D.C. (and not that difficult either). I think the cheapest option is the B30 Metrobus, which is a direct express shuttling between BWI and the Greenbelt Metro station (at the end of the Green line). Then you can hop the Metro into D.C. Amtrak and MARC are also options, but from what I've heard it is fastest to use the B30 because the trains get backed up pretty frequently and make lots of stops. I've talked to people who have used the B30 bus, and they say it's straightforward. I think it even has luggage racks. Good luck!

There are no non-stop flights to Costa Rica from Baltimore. So, including a stop in Miami and travel time, expect your trip to be around 5.5 hours. Have a great trip!

I fly from BWI to Ft Myers (about 130 miles south of Tampa) several times a year and that flight takes 2.5 hours. I believe Tampa would take about 2:15 from takeoff until landing. Happy (con)Trails!

2 hours 20 minutes. Well, that's what I found through a search engine for flights. It was a non-stop flight with US-airways. Hope this helps, Isabelle www.isabellestravelguide.com
2 :
Flights from the east coast to the west coast take way longer than two hours. You can get there in 5 hours nonstop. It can take even longer depending on your connection length. Also remember there is a time difference.
3 :
A direct flight is approx. 5 Hrs 20 Min

well for one, book far in advance (at least 3 weeks), every week that you wait the price will go up. also, try to fly out (and return) on a tuesday, wednesday or thursday. flights are cheaper in the middle of the week. i would also get on a couple of these travel websites for air fair: http://www.cheaptickets.com http://www.travelocity.com http://www.expedia.com http://www.orbitz.com http://www.priceline.com once you have gotten an average (cheaptickets is usually the cheapest), i would go to priceline.com. as long as you're requesting a roundtrip flight you can name your own price. say that the average cost for a ticket is $150, you can get on priceline (under the "name your own price") and type in that you want the ticket for $100. now, the only catch is that if they give you the ticket for the price that you ask, you HAVE to buy it. however, you have the opportunity to save big $$$. for anything else though, cheaptickets.com is my favorite.

For a nonstop flight about how long would the flight be?

probably about 5 to 5.5 hours total, not accounting for the time change.
2 :
Baltimore BWI to New Orleans MSY non-stop is about 2 hours in the air.
3 :
2.5 to 3 hours. Southwest (www.southwest.com) offers at least one non-stop daily between Baltimore and New Orleans. I'm not aware of any other carrier that does it. I fly them to BWI for Baltimore and DC. Just make sure you check in online exactly 24 hours in advance to get a good boarding number.

Why does my flight from Baltimore to NY take almost as long as NY to Pittsburgh
Why does my flight from Baltimore to NY take almost as long as NY to Pittsburgh?
I am flying from Baltimore to Pittsburgh with a stop at JFK. I noticed it will take 1h 27m to get to new york and 1h 50m to get to Pittsburgh. But Pittsburgh is twice as many miles in distance from NY as Baltimore is. I am just curious. Thanks

JFK is a busy airport so the airlines build in some extra time to account for congestion as you may be circling around until the tower gives the airplane permission to land. The actual flight time is really not that long.
