Do I need travel insurance if my flight is canceled?
It's expected to snow in England and I have a flight from here to Baltimore next Thursday. I've never flown before, so I don't know if travel insurance is to cover you for getting injured, or if it has anything to do with flights and such. If my flight is canceled, will I get put onto another flight if I do not have insurance? Also, how much snow is required to disrupt flights? Snow over here doesn't tend to get very deep.

You'd better get the insurance BEFORE you go.

You do not need insurance to get put on another flight if the flight is canceled. The airline puts you on a later flight (if it is because of a snowstorm, it could be several days later) and does not charge you additional money. You may need money to pay for a hotel room near the airport if you do not want to go back home to wait.

Well you don't have to bother for that, flight company will arrange it for you.

My guess would be between 8 and 10 hours, depending on where in Germany the flight would be departing from and the type of aircraft being used. A standard commercial flight from Frankfurt to Washington is about 8 1/2 hours.

Hello, It really depends on the aircraft you are flying on. If you can get on a KC-135 or KC-10, these planes fly at over 600 mph. If you get on a C-5, it will take longer because it flys at 541 mph. The plane you won't want is the KC-130. It flys at 362 mph. Sometimes you don't have a choice of planes but if you do, choose one of the faster ones and the trip will take between 8-10 hours. Donna

If you are past security at an airport, could you intentionally get on the wrong flight
If you are past security at an airport, could you intentionally get on the wrong flight?
If you wanted to get on a flight to europe instead of a flight to say Baltimore?

No ways. After you check in your luggage you are given a boarding pass. You go through passport control and wait for your flight to board. When your gate opens you have to show your boarding pass and sometimes your passport too. When you board your flight, the flight attendant checks your seat number and directs you where to sit. So, no, if it was that easy, wouldn't we all do it!!!

no you can't. First, you have to show a boarding pass at the gate which is scanned...the scanner is programmed to read valid boarding passes for that particular destination. If your boarding pass doesn't match the names on the flight manifest, you'll be directed to your correct gate. Hypothetically...what would you do when you got to Europe. Do you always carry a passport when going to Baltimore? When you get to Europe, they'll want to check your passport AND match it with your return ticket. Don't have either?? Back on the airplane you go, and back to the US. Once you're back?? No passport?? oh oh...how are you going to get back into the US without any valid proof you're a citizen? Say you carry your passport and SOMEHOW fall through the cracks, and manage to board a Europe bound jet. How will you get back?? you hold a ticket from Baltimore to BFE...not from Europe to BFE...if the GOD's truly are in your favor that day, you manage to pass through Euro-immigration without a return ticket...voila! Enjoy your vacation. Now to come back! oooops! Can't use that Baltimore ticket...gonna have to buy one, and one-way fares from Europe plus the departure taxes aren't cheap. It's a fun concept bud, but...if it were all that easy, don't you think everyone would be trying it?? Good luck! Anyone know about flight information from Baltimore to Seattle
Anyone know about flight information from Baltimore to Seattle?
My brothers, mom, and I are flying from Baltimore to Seattle for our Alaska cruise this July. I know that it will be kind of long, since we are flying to the other side of the country. Also, we have to cross three time zones, so we'll probably have some jet lag. Does anybody have more info about this flight (not this particular one, just cross-country flights in general)? I'm not sure about the airline, but do all airlines do the same things for flights like this one? Will they have snack boxes? I love those things :). Also, will they show a movie during the flight since it will take a few hours? If anyone can help be, that would be great! I'm not scared to fly on a plane, I just want to know some info about flights tot he other side of the country. i have flown many times before, including twice to Mexico. okay, my husband is in the army, we had to go from cali to germany, over 13 hours of flying alone. I so feel lucky your only going to be on for a few hours lol. Okay, we flew from cali to indy in christmas 08, thats pretty much accross country, we flew delta then, they will have sodas, coffee, juce, water and snacks, DEPENDING on the time your flying they may even have a meal. The will more then likely show a movie, they usually do if the flight is longer the 2 1/2 hours. Don't be nervous, Flying scared me to death until i married a service man, now we fly all the time and i am just used to it. Jet lag is probably going to happen, but if your going BEHIND in time, it is easier to get over, going from cali to germany with a 9 hour time diffrence was HARD. we had jet lag for weeks lol, but you will be fine. If your worried about not getting snacks or a meal on the plane, AFTER you go threw security, you can stop at a mcdonalds or whatever in the terminal and bring it on board, AS LONG AS YOU GET FOOD AFTER security that is fine. You can also get a starbucks or something else too. If your worried they may not have a movie and you may grow board, bring your cd player or i pod, and or a nintendo DS or psp a book or whatever, the flight attendents will let you know when its okay to use them, you can even bring your laptop, as long as you keep the wireless OFF. I hope this helps you! :) happy flying and enjoy your cruise! lol sorry if i implied you were scared, many people are so i just thought i would throw that in there

It depends on the airline you are flying with. Some airlines will show a movie while others will not. Also it depends on if your flight is non-stop or one where there are stops. Shorter flights usually do not show a movie. As for the snack box, I would not be surprised if they sell them but it doesn't hurt to eat something before boarding. As for the cross-country flight, you will be gaining hours so I suggest you try to sleep as much as you can on the flight there. That way you can stay up a little longer when it is night and you can adjust to the time zone change better.
